Just a few short weeks now until the gates open on the 5th Annual Strummercamp festival and just about everyone we speak to seems to be buzzing with anticipation for this years event. As usual we are snowed under with your messages of support & encouragement. But as the clock ticks away until the fun begins time constraints mean we can't reply to you all so here's a small summary of whats got all of the campers chin wagging this time around.

1.The Blockheads

Their EMI CD, "Staring Down The Barrel" and the Ian Dury biopic "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll" has propelled the Blockheads back into the limelight, so come and help them celebrate with such hits as Clevor Trever, Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick, Reasons To Be Cheerful Part 3, What A Waste, I Want To Be Straight and more!

The current line-up of original members Chas Jankel, Mickey Gallagher, Norman Watt-Roy and John Turnbull is completed by Dylan Howe, Gilad Atzmon and Derek "The Draw" Hussey

2. The Weather?

After last years Scorcher what are we going to get this year? Obviously we are all hoping & praying for a repeat but lets have a peep at what the boffins have to say.

Barbecue summer really is on the cards this year, says firm that predicted the big freeze. The phrase “barbecue summer” will leave a bitter taste in the mouths of those forced to huddle indoors while torrential rain dampened any chance of AL fresco dining last year. But now Britons are being asked to stomach suggestions that a sizzling summer really is on the cards in 2010.

Families are being advised to stock up on sun cream in preparation for what could be the hottest summer of all time, with temperatures set to soar past the 38.5C (101F) record.

“There’s a good chance of record temperatures across the UK The highest temperature record of 38.5C may well fall.

“A very warm summer like this has been on the cards for some years, and the Met Office believed it was likely to happen last year.
